Question of the day.

Are you excited about Christmas, or any other holidays you are going to celebrate soon? Any plans?

My answer:

Well, we don’t have the Christmas overwhelm here yet, waay too early, though I’ve heard from some other people that it’s more and more visible already in their countries. For us, the “xmassy” madness starts around the beginning of December. That could be because of the fact that we have two other holidays in the meantime, not as huge, especially not in the sense of marketing and all that, but still quite largely celebrated and present in people’s consciousness. One is Independence Day on November 11, and the other is St. Andrew’s Day on November 30, when people make dancing parties or balls or school proms or whatever, do a lot of dancing, plus single ladies looking for love traditionally foretell their future in lots of different ways, the most common being pouring hot wax from a candle through the ring of a key into cold water. Then when the wax becomes solid you hold it in front of a candle and interpret the shape of it as to what it could mean in regards to your future, especially your romantic life. I am celebrating Independence Day, as in, it’s a very important day for me, but I’m not planning to do anything super special for that. But it’s a holiday so I’ll spend it with my family. Am I excited? Guess not, but I’m definitely very happy that we can celebrate our Independence and very grateful for that, and for all the people in our history who made it happen. For St. ANdrew’s Day I’m not excited at all, I don’t really care about that. I’m single, but not looking for a romantic relationship, and hate dancing. Sofi is doing a little party for her friends, and my parents are going out for a party FOR SENIORS (no, they’re not seniors, but I guess they like it this way 😀 ). I guess it’s some sort of a national day for Scotland so I might binge on some good Scottish music that evening, or read something Scottish perhaps, we’ll see. 😀

I’m really hardly ever very much excited for Christmas, I mean I like the holiday in itself, but all the chaos that comes with it and is present everywhere, it is overwhelming and it annoys me a bit how superficial it looks and like people have no idea what’s it all about, but I remember I wrote on that last year. as well as the Christmas celebrations themselves usually take a toll on me because of all the socialising, sitting at the tables for hours and feeling bored, or lonely in the crowd or overloaded. It has its upsides but it is tiring. I used to be more fond of it when I was at school and Christmas meant to me that I could go home, but as soon as all the gatherings started, part of me really wanted it to be over. This year is a little bit different because of My Inner Mishmash Readership Award, I’m so excited with it!

As for Christmas plans, we know almost for sure that we’re going to celebrate Christmas Eve at my grandparents’. Christmas Eve is actually the most celebrated day of Christmas in Poland, people have a big, meatless supper, Christmas carols are already sung and people unbox their presents as well. So we’re most likely going to go to my Mum’s parents, and celebrate the Christmas Eve with them, all her siblings and their families.

So, how about your holidays and plans? 🙂

Question of the day (28th September).

What are your plans for today?

My answer:

It’s 6 PM already here, and, especially that today I’ve been awake since before 7 AM, I’m not having much planned for the rest of the day. I am hoping to catch up with all my overdue blog posts, eat something, have a shower, go to bed, and do some Welsh before sleep. If I’ll find the time maybe I’ll pop in to Dreamland for a little while with some good music, and I’ll probably spend another little while with Zofijka before she goes to sleep.

How about you? 🙂

Question of the day.

Any plans for March?

My answer:

No, don’t think I have any particular plans. Nothing spectacular going on at the moment for me. Oh, I will finally have to apply for my new devices, I was going to do it earlier this year or even in the end of last year, but finally I’ve decided I’ll try applying for another funding programme in which I’ll have probably a bit bigger chances of getting anything as it suits my needs more, and it is starting off in early April so I need to apply until then. But that would be it, other than that nothing too spectacular, well I guess that’s not spectacular either hahaha.

How about you? 🙂

Question of the day.

Any travel plans for the nearest future?

My answer:

Not really. I know that my parents are most probably going somewhere this spring, talking a lot about Malta, with their friends, but I’m not going with them, as I don’t really feel up to it – neither going, nor being around their friends all the time – and because it seems like they are taking this trip to strengthen their relationship. I guess I’m not really in the best mindset for travels lately.

How about you? 🙂

Question of the day.

What are you planning on doing today? Are you planning on doing anything exciting this week?

My answer:

To be honest, I don’t have any particular plans for today at all. I was going to go to my allergist in the evening, because of the bronchitis, but finally yesterday I decided not to go, because I came to the conclusion that over the weekend it got much better and it looks like it’s going to finish completely very soon, so I don’t think he’d tell me anything I don’t know already. It usually lasts way longer so that’s a good thing. But no, other than that I have no plans. yesterday Mum did cupping for me (cupping is such a form of alternative medical therapy in case you don’t know) and if you’re ill and had cupping you can’t go out for a day or so to not get things worse, so I won’t be going anywhere either. Also I’m not really into planning anything, the day started quite OK for me but then I got very low and I still am, feeling absolutely rubbish, I don’t really know what’s up, maybe PMS or something, i really have no idea what it could be, other than that I was talking with someone earlier today and I found it rather disturbing and hurtful, I don’t want to go into details now, but I think it had the potential to sort of set me off, though I guess not as much as I actually am, so I suspect there is either something more to it that I don’t realise or I’m just overreacting to everything as I usually seem to do.

And as for my plans for the week, I guess so far I don’t have any particular plans either, I’ve been leading a very uneventful life since my bronchitis has started though I don’t mind it, I’m quite happy with it if I’m honest after all the holidays and stuff, I think though that we might go to my grandparents and/or to my other gran during the weekend as it is Grandmother’s Day and Grandfather’s Day here at the beginning of next week, I’m pretty sure my family will go so it depends if I’ll be healthy enough to go with them too, but I think I should be until then. But I certainly can’t see anything that I could call exciting on the horizon, and I guess in this case it doesn’t have anything to do with my visual impairment. 😀

How about you? How are you doing in general? 🙂
