Question of the day.

Hi people! 🙂

Let’s continue with the fruit & veg theme for a while.

How much fruit do you eat each day?

My answer:

Despite I love the vast majority of fruits, it’s not like I eat a lot of fruit every day. Sometimes I don’t eat any fruit during the day at all. Actually quite often. Now that we have our own garden, and professional, enthusiastic gardeners for neighbours, we get to eat fruit every day during summer, but I guess overall it’s never been a thing in our family to eat a lot of fruit on a daily basis. My Mum also doesn’t make fruit preserves typically or anything like this, unless when it’s like last year, when we had lots of fruit that we didn’t know what to do with as we couldn’t eat it all before they’d go bad, so Mum did looots of jams, juices and kissels but it’s not a tradition like it is for a lot of Polish households. We like oranges and tangerines in winter but we don’t have them all the time in the season. So I think in my case we should rather talk about weekly than daily. But we usually have apples, so at the very least, if there aren’t any more attractive fruits, I like to eat one or two apples every few days.

How about you? 🙂

Question of the day.

What’s your favourite kind of junk food?

My answer:

If we are talking about fast food locals, well I don’t go to them regularly somehow, not because I’m a health geek like my Mum and eat only what is healthy, I like lots of unhealthy food but somehow stuff like pizza or burgers or stuff don’t impress me that much. If I do go to a fast food restaurant, I usually satisfy myself with chips and some junk drink like Pepsi/Cola or a shake, and if it’s KFC, which it most often is, I love their hot chicken wings. Other than that, I love crisps, the hotter and spicier the better, and lots of sweet things preferably chocolate-y, but not necessarily, I like lots of sweets, which doesn’t mean though that I like just anything sweet, quite far from it, it has to be good because I am picky more than our Misha hahaaha. But it’s still a lot so I guess I won’t be listing here all the sweets and snacks that I like as I’m sure I would still forget about very many things. 😀 Oh and I love when my Mum makes chips for us, way more than those from KFC or MCDonald’s, my Mum’s are usually crispier than theirs haha and probably at least a little healthier. And there is lots of other generally unhealthy food that I like or love. Even today for lunch I had pasta with broccoli sauce, sounds very healthy but the sauce was ready-made, and as my Mum said “loaded with chemicals”, but I don’t care as long as it tastes good, and it is delicious, so both me and Zofijka eat it quite often, and even my Mum probably doesn’t entirely despise “chemicals” as she sometimes eats it too. I like to sprinkle mine with grated parmezan so it’s even yummier, and today I drank Pepsi with it. But although I like many junk food I like lots of fruit and vegs too, and don’t usually eat much in one go, plus seem to have very quick metabolism (miraculously quick for someone who was said to have hypothyroidism) and I was actually underweight for years until last year and my Mum is still grumbling that I am too thin, so I guess it doesn’t harm me so far.

How about you? Do you often eat junk food? 🙂

Question of the day (9th April).

It’s actually after midnight, so my question for yesterday that I have for you is:
If I were to come and stay with you for a week, what would I expect to find in my diet for those seven days? My answer:
I’m gonna tell you what you, my reader, could expect in your diet if you were to stay with me at my home for a week.
First of all, I’d ask you what you like to eat, that’s quite obvious for me, if you have guests for a longer time, you want them to feel possibly familiar and comfortable, don’t you? I might have some vague idea as for what you like about some of you guys, but about some others I might know nothing at all as for your food preferences. I can count on my one hand’s fingers the times I’ve had any guests for a night or longer, I had some boarding school friends that I invited, but it was very occasionally, I didn’t really had friends that I’d feel close and comfortable enough with to invite them to my house, but I did invite some and then my Mum always asked me what they liked to eat and so we tried to adjust to it as much as possible. It could be slightly harder to make up some diet if you’d have some dietary limitations, but it’s surely manageable with a bit of creativity. We don’t eat like very very healthily, but my Mum is a lifestyle geek, so you shouldn’t rather expect much fast food, although we have it occasionally, often at special occasions, but generally we try to at least pretend we eat healthily. It is so that guys at my home love meat and they can’t have a lunch without meat, Zofijka is also quite carnivorous, but my Mum and me eat more vegetables, fruit, dairy, stuff like that. SO sometimes we even have two lunches, if we are particularly sick of meat, for me meat could as well not exist, well I like some kinds of meat, but I feel like I could accustom quickly. 😀 But no one of us (except for Misha who is atheist, or pagan, I guess) doesn’t eat meat on Fridays, as most Catholic and practicing people, so unless you’d clearly express you’d like to have some meat and my Mum would be so kind to prepare it just for you, you shouldn’t expect it on Friday. Considering the fact that all or at least those of my readers I know of aren’t Polish, I think I’d like to introduce you to some yummy Polish food, if you’d like it too and if my Mum wouldn’t have anything against, I think she wouldn’t. And the rest would depend on your individual case and other circumstances, I guess lol. So how about you? What could I expect while visiting you? 😀
