Mystery Blogger Award.

I’ve been nominated by the fantastic Carol Anne of

Therapy Bits

for the Mystery Blogger Award! Thank you very much, Carol Anne, it’s greatly appreciated. 🙂

   What is Mystery Blogger Award?

Mystery Blogger Award is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion. Created by: Okoto Enigma.

   Rules:

  1. Put the award logo/image on your blog
  2. List the rules.
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
  5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
  6. You have to nominate 10 20 people
  7. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)

3 things about me.

1. I sleep with a hotwater bottle most of the year, unless it’s really warm, otherwise my feet are too cold and I can’t sleep.

2. I love chocolate and mint ice cream! 😋

3. I can’t remember any phone numbers, even my own. 😀 For me it’s actually not a problem at all, but some people find it very strange. I usually am not very good at remembering any numbers or similar things. They usually completely don’t matter to me, unless I really have to care.

My answers to Carol Anne’s questions.

1. What time do you usually wake up?
Usually? There’s no such thing as usually when we talk about my sleep cycle. 😀 Anything from 1 AM to 1 PM I guess, depends on the circumstances and, I don’t know what else, maybe moon phases LOL. OK but if I go to sleep decently and need a decent amount of sleep like most people do and nothing unusual gets in the way I usually try to be up at 7-8 AM I dislike waking up too late.

2. Do you write poems?
Mm, yeah, sporadically, I do, but I don’t treat it too seriously. I used to write some occasional poems for school which people liked, but I didn’t, and writing them was a nightmare for me in some way, like quite an arduous thing. I sometimes wrote sort of dark-humoured poems or similar stuff and sometimes I do now too, but not too often. I once thought that maybe if I could write poetry it could be some way of expresing myself for me, but I don’t seem to feel very comfortable in this genre, I guess I’m better at prose.

3. Which day of the week is your favourite?
I guess I don’t have one at the moment, I don’t have a strict work schedule or anything like that that I would have to stick to, I can organise most of my time on my own the way I want, so most often I don’t have more or less favourite days of the week, OK I don’t like weekends a bit, they are often boring and lousy or too much people around.

4. What is one thing you struggle with every day?
Let’s say collectively, my brain. 😀

5. If you could make up a special day what would you want it to be?

Global  Misha Appreciation Day.

I nominate:

This time, anyone who would like to take part. 🙂 Feel free. 🙂

   My questions.

1. Do you play any computer games? What kind(s) do you like?

2. If you had to choose, do you prefer very hot or very cold temps?

3. Are you a good multitasker?

4. What do people like most in you?

5. What colour of socks do you like the most to wear? (Zofijka’s question, the funny/weird one).

The belated FridayFour.

It’s well over weekend, but  here’s another of the posts I wanted to write during the weekend but finally didn’t. It’s my first time participating in Rory’s Friday Four

, it’s fun so I thought I’d still give it a go despite it’s already Tuesday. 😀

Here are Rory’s questions and my answwers:

1] How often do you update your ‘About Section’, in your blog and do you consider it an important aspect to your blog and if so – why?

Well I have my current blog for exactly 13 months. That sounds like a lot but not very much can change usually during this time in your life and yourself. But when I started this blog and created my About page I decided that I will try to revise it every year or so and change it if necessary. And so I edited it a month ago. There was actually more to edit than I thought it would. Yes I think it is an important part to any blog, if you have an About page, it’s easier for new readers to find out who you are and what your blog is like, whether it can interest them, which is not always easy just looking at a couple of your random recent posts. Also if you write about things that aren’t necessarily obvious to a random visitor, I think it makes your site more friendly and approachable if there is a place on your blog to which people can go to actually learn what it’s all about and why it is the way it is. I am quite an inquisitive person when it comes to other people and when I visit someone’s blog, I like to know what they are like just out of plain nosiness, but it also helps me to decide whether it would be relevant for me to follow them.

2] Which do you prefer and why and what entices you to become involved with them?

a] Competitions

b] Challenges

c] Quizzes

d] Prompts

i like challenges and prompts a lot. Challenges can be very fun, and bring bloggers together in interesting ways, while prompts are great if you want to stimulate your creativity with something new or have plain old writer’s block that won’t go away on its own. I’m not very competitive usually, and so far I’ve never tried doing quizzes on my blog, though it doesn’t mean I don’t like them, overall I often enjoy playing quizzes.

3] How often do you ‘reblog or share other blogger’s posts?

It depends, I don’t know what’s often or what’s not in general but recently I’ve done it fairly regularly. I follow quite a couple blogs that are focused on some of my interests and I reblog regularly posts from some of them.

&

4] What prompts you to do so?

I reblog posts from blogs that I find interesting in hopes that maybe someone who will stumble upon my blog will find them interesting as well, as well as because I want to share what I like, show those bloggers that I enjoyed their posts, and also, as much as I can, perhaps encourage others to visit them and make those bloggers at least a bit more popular. I also reblog posts that i can strongly relate to or that move me deeply in any way, or if I see a blog that is very interesting to me for some reason but with few likes or comments, for example when someone is a beginner. I want to show them they’re doing a good job. There are lots of blogs out there, and lots of people start blogging, but so many find it disheartening, even if their blog is great, and give up so easily.

My Inner MishMash is a year old!

Whohooo! Yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!!! Congrats to me! My Inner MishMash is a year old today. I just realised it a while ago. How cool! What should I do with this fact? Any special celebrations? Changes? A giant birthday cake? I just really forgot about it sort of so didn’t think about anything, what a shame! But oh I’m so proud of myself for having this blog, developing it and sticking to it, and I think it has helped me so much in various areas of my life throughout this past year. This was such a damn good decision to start it and I regret I didn’t think earlier about it, well I did, but that I didn’t start it. But well I guess my English needed some time to become more communicative. Yay! Happy birthday, my dear blog. 😀

Stoicism

This is a very powerful post, to which I can hugely relate as someone constantly trying to unlarn bottling up emotions and living with consequences of doing so all the time for years. If you struggle with similar issues, I highly recommend you reading this. 🙂

New Beginnings

We all have a different reaction to pain.

Some of us react externally, such as jump in shock, scream, cry, or become enraged.

Some of us react, but rather internally than externally. Such as concealing the pain deep within the mind, making it appear as though they feel nothing on the outside but truly suffer inside.

Instead, the outside reaction might just be a smile. Or even nothing at all. Almost appearing as though they are immune to the pain inflicted upon them.

Maybe they want nobody to see them in pain. They wouldn’t want people to show any care for them so they can endure their suffering alone. As if nobody would be able to heal them.

Or perhaps they think people would view them as weak. A pathetic human that could never stand a chance through life. They want to eliminate the possibility of being embarrassed by hiding…

Hey people! 😊

I’m still alive. Well I guess you don’t doubt this, as I’ve been reblogging some posts and commenting some of your posts, but I haven’t posted an actual post here in over a week and I’m really really sorry about that, I didn’t mean to definitely.

I’ve been ill with bronchitis since the weekend, I tend to get bronchitis inevitably every year sometime in autumn or winter and it’s somehow related to allergy and asthma, and that has made a bit of a chaos for me and I’m just behind on everything.

Tomorrow it’s probably going to be a busy day for me, busy and boring altogether, so I don’t know how quickly I’ll catch up on everything.

I just wanted to let you know that I’m still here, didn’t give up on blogging, and will now try to catch up on the song of the day posts a bit as I’ve intended to show you so many great songs, and if I’ll manage then I’ll post the question for today for you as well, and I hope I’ll be able to do some more longer writing later this week too, when I’ll feel better and get back on track with things.

Hope you are all doing well. 🙂

Friendly Fill-ins.

Here are this week’s Friendly Fill-ins, hosted by 15 And Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs.

  1.   Black Friday _________________________________ is a bit weird holiday in my opinion, but I don’t really care about it much and it amazes me a little that some people seem to be so excited about it, I was never particularly into shopping though. I think the weird thing about it is that it actually seems to last a week, if not more. 😀 But if people like it so much, why not?
  2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is ___________________________ Christmas music being already played so very often on the radio. People, it’s not even December yet! 😀 I mean, if they like it so much, OK, their business, I do have my own Christmas favourites that I sometimes can’t resist to not listen on other times of the year too, even if it’s the middle of the summer, that can be fun, but hearing about Christmas everywhere when it’s still a little less than a month until it arrives makes me feel a little sick, even though I do like Christmas, I just think too much can be very unhealthy.
  3. ‘Tis the season for _________ writing a lot for me. I’m writing a lot in my book about “Jack Hamilton” lately, after neglecting him for some time.

I never jumped on the fantasy books _________ bandwagon. They seem to be so popular lately. I like some stuff like for example our Polish “The Witcher”, or other stuff that has a bit of a fairy tale feel, as well as proper legends and fairytales and stuff, but I’ve never liked stuff like “Harry Potter”, or books that are very focused on paranormal/supernatural stuff, all the books about vampires, werewolves, alternative worlds, superpowers, it never, or very rarely spoke to me very much, I guess only when the topic iss somewhat close to me I can enjoy such book a bit. I did read some of them out of curiosity, but yeah, not my cup of tea definitely.

Back to the big world. :D

Hi people! 🙂

So now as my blog is public again, I’d like to say it once again to those who didn’t read my blog while it was private. Although I am now public, I decided that I am going to protect some more personal posts with a password.

If you’d like to access them, feel free to Contact me. and then I will decide whether I will give it to you or not. That’s it for now. 🙂

A little heads up.

I’d just like to tell you I’m most probably going to make my blog public again soon. I will protect some more personal posts with a password though. It’s going to be the same for all posts, and if you’d like me to send it to you, just let me know in the comments of this or any other post on here and give me your email address, or email me at jackie . ysbiwr @ gmail . com. I might send it to some of you whose emails I already have later on, but if you won’t get it from me, feel free to contact me. I am also hoping to finally make a contact form on my blog so you can reach me via it too.

Share Your World.

Hey people! 🙂

I decided to participate in Share Your World this week. I haven’t done this in a while, and the last SYW I participated in was hosted by Cee Neuner, however now it is Melanie from Sparks From A Combustible Mind

who hosts this challenge on her blog. Go over to her if you’d like to find out how to participate or read others’ posts.

The questions for this week are:

Is there one post on your site that is really special to you?  (credit for this one goes to CrushedCaramel )

Hm, in a way all of my posts are special to me, but, the most… I guess I’d choose

Reasons Why I’m Learning Welsh.

How Do You Deal With Negative People?  (Athling2001 gets credit for this one)

Not the best, usually. If someone in my surroundings is very negative, like complaining all the time or toxic, it either gets on my nerves and it’s hard for me to be around such people and not feel constantly annoyed, or their negativity passes on me, as other people’s feelings or atmosphere around can be pretty contagious for me at times. So if I can, I just try to avoid this kind of people. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with such individuals a lot nowadays. Our Zofijka can be described as negative at times, as she is very moody and sulky and you’ll never know what will be her next whim, and if she has a whim, she wants everyone to do whatever it is she wants. But with Zofijka it’s a bit different, her negative moods also often pass on me or annoy me, but she’s not of a toxic kind, and she’s a kid, so I can give her a piece of my mind when she’s getting too far with it, but you can’t do it to everyone, right? Or not in all circumstances.

What Is The First Thing You Think Of When You Wake In The Morning?

Very often it’s Misha, as he sleeps with me most nights so when I wake up any time at night or in the morning and know he went to sleep with me I always check if he’s still in his bed. He often wakes me up in the morning, because I always have the door to my room closed, so then in the morning I have to let him out, and if no one else is up yet, I usually feed him too, or if I feel too sleepy/lazy to go downstairs and feed him I just give him some snacks and let him out.So usually it’s Misha.

Would You Rather Be Able To Talk With The Animals Or Speak All Foreign Languages?

OMG now that’s so tricky! Let’s think… do I really need to speak ALL languages? Don’t think so, I’m not sure I’d really want it, however it would be so brilliant if I could just be able to speak all those I love, and if I spoke some others, maybe it wouldn’t be that bad… sounds cool… But then, I definitely feel that being able to understand animals, particularly cats, especially Misha, could be really helpful and even much more useful than speaking all the human languages. Misha is such a quiet child, he never says what’s on his mind, it’s hard to know what he wants or needs or feels, he’s very secretive and fearful. Plus, for all cats, communication is a rather subtle thing, and more often than not – visual, so if you can’t see, things get even more tricky, and I just often don’t have a clue what he wants. So yeah, understanding his language would be extremely useful. Another thing though, is whether he’d be eager to talk to me at all…

Friendly Fill-ins.

Oh my, today I realised that I haven’t participated in Friendly Fill-ins in months! I guess the last time was quite a while before I sent my laptop to be fixed, in August! Time flies…

Anyways, if you’d like to participate too, go over to Ellen at

15 And Meowing or to Four-Legged Furballs, who are hosting. 🙂 Here are this week’s fill-ins.

  1. One can _____________. imagine just anything one wishes, the key is to just train your imagination, there are no things, or hardly any, that a human being can’t imagine, that’s what I think.
  2. Given the choice of _______________ not being able to ever learn my languages, or losing Misha, I would pick _________________not to be able to speak my languages, I could never live without Misha now, or even if I could, that would be more than shitty.
  3. _________ Misha makes me feel _________calmer, happier, less alone, safer, makes my life feel beautiful.
    1. I never go a day without _________listening to music.

Going out for a day tomorrow.

Wanted to let you know guys I’m going away tomorrow, will be back late in the evening, but most probably will not be online at all. I’m going with Mum and Zofijka for a pilgrimage. It’s organised by my gramma, there are also lots of other people going and we are going there in a touring car. The place where we’re going to is called Obory, which is a very funny name because it literally means Cowsheds in Polish. I don’t think though it has much to do with cows, there is a sanctuary and we’re going there, having a sort of day for prayer and some spiritual growth. I am a bit anxious about that because I hate being away from home even for a day, and there will be so many people around me, but I am also very curious and actually I think I am looking forward to it, because I feel it might help me to settle again after what happened to me recently, I still feel sort of out of tune after that.

So I hope you’ll be all having a great day tomorrow, and I’ll be leaving you with two posts that I’ve scheduled for tomorrow, they’re the usual song of the day and question of the day posts and they’ll be published early in the morning my time.

Will get back to ya on Thursday. 🙂 Oh yeah, and I’m going horse riding on Thursday, it’s gonna be great!

Probably going private soon.

Hey guys. 🙂

Wanted to quickly notify you about one thing.

I am most probably going to make this blog private. It is just what I feel I need to do, to have some more control, over who is able to see my scribbles. I’ll do this tomorrow, and when I’ll figure it out, I’ll be sending invitations to you my readers so that you can access my blog, although you can also request an invite when the site is already private, or email me at jackie . ysbiwr @ gmail . com (without spaces of course 😀 ), or in the comments, if you want to be included. I’m going to give the access only to those whom I already know either because they’ve been commenting or from their own blogs, and only those whom I feel I can trust.

Hope you’ll understand and stick with me. 🙂

Question of the day.

Hi guys. 🙂

Here’s the last question from our little series about various people we know, and it’s inspired by the thread on Behind The Name message board. It’s to do strictly with names, and I realise not everyone has their own list of favourite names, the more other people to talk with them about it, but still I don’t think that the topic of names isn’t so very uncommon even for those who aren’t name geeks, so I decided to ask this question. So here it is, and my answer to it.

Have you ever known anyone who hates your very favourite names?

My answer:

Yeah, my Mum. I don’t know why actually, because pretty often we seem to have a bit similar styles in many things, but definitely not in names. We both like traditional names, but I also like some very original names and a lot of names from other cultures, and even the traditional Polish names which we like or some vintage ones are different in their feel. Sheesh, she even hates the name Jacek, despite it’s her husband’s name. I don’t think I could live for 20-ish years with someone whose name I’d hate. He’d have to be really really perfect in all other regards. And by the way, I think if I’d have a husband, and wanted to have kids, I’d also have to look for someone with the exact same taste with names as mine, or not colliding too much with mine haha. I can be a very conciliatory person usually, but I just can’t imagine naming my child a name I really dislike – even for a middle name – just because my husband likes it, and so many mums I know seem to do it. My Mum says my name tastes are to quirky and sophisticated for her. Whereas I can agree for sophisticated somewhat, because I like a lot of quite classy names, particularly for girls, but for boys too, I don’t think my tastes in names are really very quirky. Like I am quirky, and many things I like are quirky, but not necessarily names, I don’t like too much originality with them. Just a bit is OK. Also there are lots of name lovers I know, and I know quite a few whose tastes seem to be definitely different than mine.

How about you?

Question of the day.

Have you ever known anyone whose house has caught fire?

My answer:

My Polish teacher at the integration school where I was for two years in primary. She had terrible scars after that and I remember she once told me that since then she’s deadly afraid of anything to do with fire. Also at the time when I was in the primary school the boarding part for girls of the school for the blind where I was going to has caught fire. I also know about my Dad’s friend to whom it happened, but I don’t know him personally.

How about you? 🙂

Question of the day.

Have you ever known anyone who has written something that was published? My answer:
Yes, quite a lot of people actually. One of my Polish blind friends is regularly publishing short stories, well I haven’t had any contact with her in a while but she was at the time we were talking regularly. I had a chance to meet my favourite writer, Małgorzata Musierowicz, and talk to her, and I was in her house, and we hugged, so I guess I can say I know her somewhat. I know some people I was going to school with ended up as writers and I knew them to a varying degree. And one of my school tutors was one of the authors of a few specialised books on typhlopedagogy as far as I know.

Cee’s Share Your World.

Which tastes better: black or green olives?
I love olives in general, olives are one of my favourite foods. It doesn’t matter whether black or green.

What’s your favorite room in your home?
My own.

What fictional family would you be a member of?
There’s such a Polish series I’ve talked about probably more than I can count on this blog, it’s called “Jeżycjada”, and it’s written by Małgorzata Musierowicz. It is generally perceived as a series for teens, or for girls, or women, but my personal opinion is that it is suitable just for everyone, unless you really crave for a very fast and changeable plot in a book. It’s full of warmth and humour, yummy food, very fascinating characters that at the same time are also just nice to be around. All that with the witty style and erudition of Musierowicz’s on top which make these books way too good to just classify them as your typical books for teens, in fact I don’t thik many of the typical Polish teens would actually read themwith pleasure because of a bit difficult vocabulary at times, for example my Zofijka says they’re boring because she doesn’t understand a lot of words, which in my opinion is weird, but that’s how many teens seem to be nowadays, though Zofijka is maybe just a bit too young because she’s actually 11. And what’s very characteristic to this series is that there is a lot of focus on family life. In the central place we have the Borejko family, living in Poznań, and then all their friends and further relatives, so quite a lot of families we can come across. Each book in the series is particularly dedicated to one of the characters (preferably a teenage girl or a young woman, though not always), so we can have a deeper insight into a particular heroine’s family. That being said, I have lots of interesting, loving and cool families to choose from in my favourite series. But I’ll go with the Borejko family, I’d love to be the fifth of the Borejko daughters (there are four), or I could replace Natalia, with whom I strongly identify. This is such a great family and I already feel like a part of it. And OMG I’d love for Mila Borejko to be my Mum, or even just anyone whom I’d know in real life, she has very many traits that I have, so I can understand her and identify with her, but she also has a lot of ones that I don’t have and which I always admire in people and respect them for.And boy wouldn’t it be cool to  have four sisters? Or even just three, if I’d be Natalia? 😀 One of my other favourite families is the Żak family, they’re so funny and witty and always make me laugh when I read the book that is particularly about them, but I am not sure whether I’d actually fit in there, I feel like the Borejko family are a bit more of my kind of people.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Misha, a lot of progress in my languages, particularly Welsh, but also English, writing, blogging. Starting therapy with the new therapist, whatever will come out of it, our first session was pretty good. Getting rid of the anxiety after the nightmares I had a few weeks ago and the anxiety afterwards was hard to overcome fully, it would come back happily in the evenings and at night and I hated it, and now it seems to be gone, I hope I’m not jinxing it.
