My Behind The Name lists – Behind The Name is a website about names where, among other things, you can create lists of names you like. I’ve made quite a few lists, these are either of names I love the most or generally find interesting, I thought I’ll give you the links so you can have a look, and if you have a BTN account also rate the names.

  1. Hi, my name is Patricia, I was born on at Patrick’s Day in 1968, I am a twin and my sister’s name is Michaela, both our names are traditional Irish masculine names when they are shortened, eg: Pat & Mic, St Patrick’s Day is a big celebration for the Irish, because of the day we were born on our parents made a decision to change what they had already decided on, Abigail & Fiona. The reason I wanted to contact you is because your description of a person named Michaela, most of your description is incredibly intuitive and absolutely correct, it is also very eloquent and detailed I was delighted with it and I’m certain my twin will love it, thanks Trisha x

    1. Thanks so much for letting me know about this. 🙂 I am delighted to hear that you think my description of Michaela is accurate! 🙂 I firmly believe that a name can have a lot of influence on a person’s personality, not quite as much as genes and other things like that but I believe it’s still a very important factor and I am passionate about what particular characteristics a name can give a person. it’s funny and amazing because I actually don’t know any person named Michaela closely but it’s just how I see this name and I find it fabulous that I’ve already heard from quite a few people on different names that for them my descriptions were pretty accurate. For me it just confirms that there has to be something between names and personalities. Hope your twin sister will like the description of her name too. 🙂
I like the way you and your sister were named in such an Irish style because of being born on St. Patrick’s Day. Here in Poland it used to be a thing in some regions that a baby was given the name of a saint on whose day she or he was born and I think it’s a really nice idea.
