A little heads up.

Just wanted to quickly tell you that tomorrow I am starting my finals. I am not staying for the night at that school tomorrow and will head back home after I write the exam for the weekend and come back there again for Monday and Tuesday, but because I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to post anything tomorrow I scheduled the regular song and question posts for tomorrow so that I won’t leave you with nothing guys and there will be something going on on here even if I’m not here. There’s a few hours drive to that school where I’m taking the exams and I have to be in already at 8:15 AM, have no idea at what time I’ll be at home. At the weekend I’ll also schedule some posts to come in on Monday and Tuesday.

I really hope that after this whole exam hustle will finish I’ll be able to make this blog more dynamic, as there was hardly anything besides the series posts here in weeks, I plan on changing it and writing some more lengthy posts, so, yeeeah… be warned. πŸ˜€ And Misha will come back, I promise!

So that’s it from me now, just in case you’d be wondering what’s going on and why I don’t reply or anything, as I just don’t know at what time I’ll be back.

OK, off to sleep now, don’t feel sleepy at all, but have to be up at 4 AM. (:| Don’t know how I’ll do it, so wish me luck with this please. πŸ˜€ I had one big exam in the past which I actually passed in the total Zombie mode and it was horrid.

Question of the day.

Is there anything you’d like to tell me, or any question you want to ask me?

I’m gonna tell you guys things that I want to tell you at the moment.

My answer:

Hmmm, there could be a lot of things I could tell you, my lovely readers. First of all I’d like to thank you once again for the fact you are here, reading all of my scribbles and for all your likes and comments. I am thankful for all of you – those already 103 followers (yippeee!!!! thanks) and those of you who don’t follow me but still read my blog more or less often. And I am thankful for each one of you separately, all of your reading, likes, comments and follows, that means so much to me. You probably already know that I had a few other blogs before this one, they were much more humble, I even had one Polish blog on WordPress, but I’ve never got so many followers and I could only dream about so many comments and likes, it was in a big part due to my very poor idea as for how to promote myself and that although there are many blogs on Polish blogs, interactions on them are, usually, fairly poor. SO when I came here to the English language WordPress community, I felt shocked immediately, since I was getting likes actually immediately after I published my first post, and it was something I absolutely wouldn’t expect after my experiences with Drimolandia (that was how my previous blog was called). So yeah I’m so thankful for all of you.

What else can I tell you, I think I can tell you a bit about my day. So again, unfortunately, it is a Zombie day. Ughhhh. For those of you who may not know, Zombie day is how I call every day after a night of no sleep. ‘Cause well you literally feel and perceive the world a bit like a Zombie then, don’t you? I hate it so much, but not much I can do about it. It’s after 9 AM now and as for now I feel pretty decent and not sleepy at all, but I know that if I want to keep it this way or at least similarly I’d soon have to help myself with a coffee or two. In my case catching up on sleep during the day isn’t a good option and I do it only when I’m so exhausted that my brain falls into pieces and can’t function anymore because it doesn’t help my sleep cycle to settle and most probably I’d have another night of poor sleep ahead. So I’ll just have to get through it and then go to sleep possibly early hoping my sleep cycle will set up properly at least for a while. Shit I wonder what I’ll do if one of the days when I’ll have my finals will be a Zombie day. That would be a nightmare, but I guess that since I can’t do much about it, I shouldn’t think too much about it as it won’t help. So during that sleepless night I was reading a very interesting book, in Swedish. Almost half a year has passed since the last time I read a book in Swedish, so decided it is definitely a time to change it, and this book seemed so cool. It’s called “Konsten Att Vara Ela” (The art of being Ela) and it’s written by Johanna Nilsson. It’s kinda psychological novel about a girl, or actually a woman, who is very lost in her life, her family has fall apart and she can’t accept it, she isn’t really a grown up and she doesn’t want to be, she wants to be crazy, wild and free and so she’s criticised by her family. She generally feels very lonely, but then she finds a little, neglected girl called Klara whose mum is a druggie and homeless and can’t take care of Klara So Ela takes care of her. And she generally starts to change. Don’t know where it all is going yet, as I’m still in the middle, but it’s very interesting. My Mum woke up very early so I gave up on trying to get at least some little bit sleep in the morning and got up to, it was like 6. We talked about Zofijka’s school. Mum always talks to me about all her issues, that’s nice, well I mean I appreciate it because I guess it has to mean she trusts me, but she also almost always asks me for advice, and this time it was so too. Zofijka’s having lots of trouble at school, with her friends, and Mum doesn’t know what to do about it and how to be objective. The problem is I don’t know either, as I am not a children specialist and don’t plan to be one ever, so I just told her to go with her instinct and she was like oh wow yes you’re right I’ll do so thank you! like I said something extremely original and completely new, which made me kinda confused. πŸ˜€ But maybe that’s how it feels for her and if so, I’m glad I could help her. Then also Zofijka came and we all talked about it. She’s so poor, I really feel for her for all these stupid school affairs she’d been thrown in. That’s very complicated plus it’s her thing so I won’t go in the details here, I’ll simply tell you that it is a classic school issue. Because she’s different, has a different view on lots of things, because we as a family are different so she has a slightly different upbringing or way of life or call it what you want and a little different outlook on some things than all of those so very typical kids in her class, she’s now not liked in her class apparently by anyone. And she’s actually alone. It is a big deal for such a social butterfly who is made for and get used to be always in the limelight. And it’s hard to be wise in such situation, you know. Because she also isn’t a docile angel, and can be very moody, bossy, egocentric and stuff, so as we suppose, part of the guilt for why they don’t like her is on her side too. Zofijka was so stressed out that she didn’t even go to school yesterday, Mum actually drove her, but as she got out of the car she started to cry desperately and keep saying she doesn’t want to go to school, so Mum let her stay, if things are so very stressful, one day shouldn’t make much of a change. Today she did go to school though and on her own and I really hope things will be improving. There are always some kind of affairs in Zofijka’s class and somehow she s always involved in them, don’t really know if by her own choice or accidentally and don’t know what to think about it. Now there are only Mum and me and Misha inand I think I’ll soon have that coffee.

And the question I want to ask you, other than the main one is, what do you like the most on my blog?

So yeah, very curious as for your answers for both these questions.

A thank you post.

It’s been over two months since I started blogging here on My Inner MishMash and loving it. But I’m more than sure I would quit it already if you, my readers, wouldn’t encourage me with your comments, likes and follows, ’cause writing just for myself is what I’ve been already doing in my diary so wouldn’t be appealing at all online. I’m so glad you like my writing and would like to thank all of you for visiting my mish-mashy world, everyone of you my readers and (71 now already) followers. And most of all, all those of you who leave me all those interesting, constructive, encouraging and supportive comments, because of your time and engagement you put in. Thanks so much to all of you.

Also, if you have any feedback, ideas, questions… I don’t know, anything about this blog you’d like to share and you think it could contribute to its development, of course I’ll be more than happy to hear your suggestions.

Other than that, I know it’s pretty normal on blogs, whether beginning or established, that the amount of followers is bigger than commenters, but still… I’m always very curious of people as individuals. So I’d really really like to hear from you and about you, if you’ve never commented on here before. I’d love to hear your story and learn a little bit about you, as well as to hear your opinion about my humble blogging attempts, what do you like here the most and what made your decision to follow me? You’re more than welcome to share your thoughts, no matter if many or just a few words.

So yeah, thanks again to all of you, my lovely readers, I hope you feel well in My Inner MishMash and like it here. πŸ™‚

Buy me a coffee

Hi! πŸ™‚

Recently I’ve been seeing quite a few people having “Buy Me A Coffee” buttons on their blogs or talking about buying coffee for bloggers and I was interested what’s it all about, and so I found out about ko-fi.com.

I started my own page on there and I have a big big ask for you guys. I’d be extremely grateful if you could get me a coffee or two. πŸ™‚

Currently I’m saving for a new Braille-Sense (you know, that thing I’m reading/writing/doing other things with), as my current one is suffering for very long (10 years or so) and desperately needs retirement, plus is also a little bit outdated. The new one I’d like to get is about 96000 dollars, (!!!) so either way I’d need some funding from my local organisations, but your coffees could help me reach my goal a little bit faster.

I’ll be applying for some funding in August, and if all goes well and I’ll be able to get this new Braille-Sense, I’d use your coffees for my linguistic needs – like paying for my courses, buying books and other resources, don’t know what other future challenges in this field might be – or for other specialised (or not) techy stuff to help me deal with various aspects of life with blindness, or some stuff to help me with mental health struggles in various ways.

So if you like what I write, or relate to it, or anything, and can and want to help me achieve my goals, your coffees would be much appreciated. πŸ™‚

Buy me a coffee.

Also, I’ve made the image widget for my blog so you could easily navigate to the link anytime, but I’m not sure if it actually looks decent, so any feedback about that would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance for your kindness, guys. πŸ™‚

Blogging Chums award.

So I was nominated, again, yay! πŸ™‚ This time by lovely Ghostmmnc

for the Blogging Chums award. Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. πŸ™‚

The Blogging Chums Award is given to particularly brilliant bloggers who are really providing something special to the community, either through their writing or the way they engage with other people: they’re just brilliant!

Here are the rules:

1. Be sure to use the award image!
2. List the rules & about paragraph!
3. Thank whoever nominated you!
4. Write a letter to someone who means a lot to you to spread some positivity around the Internet – anyone will do!
5. Nominate 5-10 more people for the award and go let them know about it in their comments!

I think I’m going to break the first rule about the award image, I don’t have anyone around to help me with it at the moment as civilised people are sleeping and I wouldn’t like to do it wrong in any way, which would be quite likely as I can’t see. πŸ˜€

And now, the letter. I’m curious how it’ll go, honestly. πŸ˜€ Will Misha be appropriate? πŸ˜‰ I know there are people who would question calling a cat “someone”, but not me, plus he means the world to me, so I think he’ll do too.

My dear, lovely and just the best baby, friend and supporter, Misha!

Sometimes I really wonder how do you have to feel about yourself if the only thing you get from others is pure adoration, love and pampering. But that’s what you deserve, sweetie, even if it makes you think you are the centre of the world, because, actually, you are pretty close to that point in my world, never mind worlds of other people. I would like to know if you know how much you really mean to me. I want you to realise how much love, joy and happiness you have brought into my life when you came to us – little, fearful, non stop crying baby Misha. I loved you at a first glance, and although I have you with me for only two years, I feel like I wouldn’t be able to exist without you. Some would probably call it a very wrong form of attachment or something, but I don’t really care, as long as you are with me. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if Zofijka picked another Russian blue cat for us, not you, if you wouldn’t stare at her at that moment you both met. Would I love that cat as much as I love you? Would he be as exceptional, beautiful and intelligent as you are? Probably, but I’m just so happy I have you, my lovely, grey-blue-silver Mishbaby. So if you didn’t realise it yet, I want to tell you now I just love you to pieces. I even love those few disadvantages you have because they make you who you are, they make you a unique individual, different from all your brothers and sisters and all the OTher Russian blue cats. Even if my family doesn’t understand why are you scared so easily and so wild at times, I do get it. We are made of the same clay, aren’t we? We both love to be close with other beings, but anything can scare us and make us run away. We both need to consider all the circumstances before we engage in anything. We both hate people intruding on our territory and when there are too many people around. And we both like to observe everything around us not being seen. Isn’t that a lot of common ground? I guess that’s probably why we got along immediately. I just want you to know that I don’t want you to be different. That would be fun if you would be more snuggly than you are, but we can’t say you aren’t, and I think if you aren’t snuggly all the time, we can appreciate snuggle time with you more than if it would be our normal. Sometimes all of us get it a bit too directly, that you don’t like us, and that’s because you don’t want any hugs and sometimes just any kind of touch, but I know it’s not about us and I think others do too, it’s just how you are. So even if we are disappointed at times, that you don’t come to us like a stereotypical cat, purring and waiting for snuggles, I love you and accept you as you are, not because I can’t change you so I accepted it as it is, but because you are my Misha, the only Misha I have and my favourite Misha, and I wouldn’t change you for a thousand of other Mishas. And I know that when you cuddle with me, sleep with me, lay down at my feet purring everY TIME I come home from somewhere and say “Hhrruu?”, spend all the day with me, come to me and lick me like crazy, play with me, let me cry in your fur, climb up on my arms, it’s because you want it. YOu truly want it, and no one forces you to do so. So I guess you have to like me too. And I want to thank you for all that you do for me. That you simply are with me, through thick and thin, and you are so supportive, like many human beings can’t be. I’m just so lucky I have you.

Thank you so much for everything and hope you’re happy with us too!

Thanks once again, Ghostmmnc, for nominating me. πŸ™‚

The LiebsTER Award.

The great Bee of The Bee Writes

nominated me for the Liebster award. Thank you so much! πŸ™‚

So the rules are:

Acknowledge the blog who nominated you.
Answer the 11 questions your nominator asked.
Nominate 11 other bloggers.
Ask them 11 questions.

My answers for Bee’s questions:

1. Where do you blog from?

Always from my room.

2. What is your motto (for life, your blog, your work… whichever you choose)?
Honestly, never really thought more about it before, but… I guess logically it should be something like adapt for the worst, so you’ll appreciate the best even more, if it comes. πŸ˜€ Would have to think more to make up or find something more creative.

3. What is your favourite blog post (yes please choose your own πŸ™‚ )?
Hm, I guess my all time favourite post from all I’ve written until now is Reasons why I’m learning Welsh4. Coffee or tea?
Depends on which kind of coffee or tea. I love strong, black coffee and I can’t exist without it because my blood pressure is chronically low as long as I can remember, so that when someone measures it they look like they doubt I’m actually alive lol. I also like things like latte or cappucino though, but not too sweet as it tastes a bit yucky then, but I know for some people it must be very sugary to be good. Oh and I love ice coffee. I love raspberry tea and drink a lot of it, black tea is also good.

5. What is your favourite foreign recipe?
I can’t say much about recipes as I don’t cook much for myself, but as for foreign food, I LOOOVE falafel! I generally adore Mediterranean, Mexican and Moroccan food, as for food I really do like lots of exotic things.

6. What is your favourite animation (sorry I have a thing for animations at the moment and need some input πŸ˜‰ )
Don’t have any.

7. And as we are on it: What is your favourite movie?
I think “RΓ€nnstensungar”, it’s a Swedish film in which one of my musical crushes, who was occasionally also an actor, Cornelis Vreeswijk, played, and he was soo good and expressive, and the plot in general is so very interesting.

8. If you had the power to change the world, what would you change?
I’d do my best to make people in general more open-minded, less stereotypically thinking. I mean, there will always be some stereotypes, but I’d like people to get it that not everything can be labelled and pigeonholed. I’d like if we all would be able to think not only in black and white, but in many colours, as the world around us is so different it’s just impossible to classify people/situations/phenomena into just one of two categories.

9. Tell us three of your strengths!
Oh gosh I suck at doing it. πŸ˜€ But I’ll try and I’ll try to be objective.

  1. My language skills, or at least the ability to familiarise a language’s sounds pretty quickly.
  2. Listening. Or anyway, so I can assume from how many people tell me lots of their private things or just things that matter to them. I actually like doing it, although not like all the time, as it can be overwhelming.
  3. “Feeling” other people. I think I have the ability to quite quickly “feel” someone’s personality, their character, I get others’ emotions and impressions easily too. Not always, but very often. My grandad often calls me X-ray or clairvoyant because of that. πŸ˜€ But it also means that sometimes I can be judgmental, because my evaluation might not always be true and I rather tend to trust my instinct.

10. Tell us your preferred way of pampering yourself!
Snuggling with Misha, listening to music, reading books, eating yummy food and dreaming, dreaming and dreaming. πŸ˜€

11. Tell us 11 places you would like to go to!

1. Sweden, once again, and Swedish Lapland.

2. Cornwall.

3. England.

4. Wales.

5. Scotland.

6. Isle Of Man.

7. Northern Ireland.

8. Ireland.

9. Finland and Finnish Lapland.

10. Faroe Islands.

11. Netherlands in general and Friesland in particular.

My nominees are:

Maybe It Is Daijiro (Max)

My Thoughts About Life

Saumya of

Randomness Inked

Squimple

Eve of

Revenge Of Eve

Carol Anne et. al. of

Therapy Bits

and anyone else who’d like to participate, do feel awarded and join in. Also, I strongly recommend you to see all the blogs mentioned above, as, obviously, they’re absolutely gorgeous, each one in their own, speciffic way. Otherwise I wouldn’t nominate them, right? πŸ˜€

And here are the questions for my nominees:

  1. Any plans for the Easter time?
  2. What do you do when you feel emotionally overwhelmed to help yourself?
  3. Do you have any all time favourite book(s)? Or any that you feel are “about you” or “especially for you”?
  4. Name at least one thing for which you are proud of yourself.
  5. What is your favourite sweet thing with chocolate?
  6. Do you have your favourite word in English/other language(s) you speak? List as many as you have on your mind.
  7. What is your favourite feminine name?
  8. How about masculine?
  9. What are some of your pet peeves?
  10. What one thing about yourself do you like the most and what do you dislike the most?
  11. If you spend an evening alone, what do you usually do?

OK, that’s all from me. Really looking forward to seeing your posts. And thanks again, Bee. πŸ™‚

Versatile blogger award.

And I got nominated once again to the Versatile Blogger Award, this time by lovely ashley over at Mental Health At Home

Thanks so much, Ashley. πŸ™‚

But I think since I made the award post for the same award very recently, I won’t make another one now. Just wanted to mark the fact I was nominated again, thank Ashley and say I’m very happy about that. πŸ™‚

Mystery blogger award.

Thanks sooo much to fabulous Carol Anne, blogging at Therapy Bits

for nominating me to this award. πŸ™‚ It means a lot to me. πŸ™‚ Check Carol Anne’s blog out, I’m sure you’ll like it. πŸ™‚ This is an award created by Okoto Oke Enigma

.

Rules are:

Put the award logo/image on your blog.

List the rules.

Thanks whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.

Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.

You have to nominate 10-20 people.

Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.

Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify).

Share a link to your best post(s).

3 things about me:

1. I hate bananas.

2. My birth name wasn’t Emilia. I won’t tell you what it was, but it was related to English Margaret, or Marjorie, or Maisie… We in Polish don’t have as many forms of this name as you do, but we have a few, so, now you can guess which it was. πŸ˜€ I legally changed my name to Emilia three years ago, but was going by EMilia around people whom I trusted or who knew much about me or with people from other countries. With people who know me back then and with whom I’m not close, I’m still going by my old name.

3. I have allergy to cats, but seems like autosugesty is an enormous power. I am not allergic to Misha, or to much much smaller degree.

My nominees:

Ashley (Mental Health At Home)

,

Trina (It’s Good To Be Crazy Sometimes)

Marie (The So Alive Project)

Meagan (Tulip By Any Name)

Kourtney (Defining Yellow

Live Not Exist

And that would be unfortunately all, as being a new blogger, I am still at the stage of exploring the blogosphere, and also don’t want to nominate still only the same people to give you an opportunity to maybe find some news blog, not only nominate the people.

Questions to my nominees:

1. What’s your biggest fear?

2. What’s your biggest accomplishment in life?

3. How many Jacks or Jackies do you know and do you like them (this weird one).

4. Do you like your job? If you’re not working, what job would you like to have?

Do you write anything else besides on your blog?

My best posts?… Assuming from the amount of comments it would be:

Reasons why I’m learning Welsh. *long post*

I think that

name game

I did yesterday was quite a good idea to do, seems like many of you have liked it, and I think I did a good job making it.

The post about

stifling emotions

was good, but it’s just my opinion, maybe because it was so very challenging for me to write it and cost me quite a lot, but it was also a completely new, in some way interesting experience, however this post turned out a bit chaotic and rather lengthy, but actually I wanted it to be rather lengthy.

OK, that’s it for now, thanks again, Carol Anne. πŸ™‚

Month of blogging, yaaay!

Exactly. My Inner MishMash had its official birthday three days ago, but since I spent three days on setting it up, the actual birth took place on 26th of January. So far I am really excited with blogging and everything about that, moreover, I feel like it never was as enjoyable for me and as successful on any with my previous blogs as it is now.

Also I would like to thank you all who are following my blog, reading, liking and commenting my posts, I am extremely grateful to you and so very happy you are here.

But I am also curious if you like it here and what speciffically you like here, hence I thought I will make a poll.

Thanks in advance for voting and I will be even more thankful if you have any suggestions or ideas about what you’d like to see here in future and if you will let me know about them in the comments. I have some ideas I would like to start in future, but as ideas are never too many, yours will be enormously appreciated as well. Also feel free to give me any additional honest feedback in the comments if you’d like to.

First post.

Hi hi people! πŸ™‚

So thrilled and happy that I finally have this blog. πŸ™‚

I’d like to once again give a very warm welcome to all my readers. Since I wrote quite a lot about myself in the about me page, I think I won’t do it now again.

This first post is just to wish you a very nice time here in My Inner MishMash. I hope you’ll enjoy being here as much as I’m enjoying now.
