Question of the day.

Would you prefer a vacation to a big city or a national park?

My answer:

Out of the two, a national park sounds better to me I guess, although it would also depend on a lot of things, what sort of city it would be or what I would do in a park. I generally am not a big city person, but then on the other hand one of the best summer holidays I’ve had was in Stockholm, which perhaps isn’t huge when you look at the whole world, but is still a city and a capital one, so I guess there’s no rule at all. But generally, as I said, I’d be more inclined to choose a park and I’m pretty sure my family would say the same, perhaps except for Sofi.

You? 🙂

  1. It would depend on whether the purpose of the vacation was relaxing, in which case I’d choose the park, or exploring new things and trying new food, in which case I’d go for the city.

  2. Huh. Louisville’s considered (I think) to be a medium city. It certainly pales next to NYC or London or LA, etc. I think that medium-city life is perfect for me! For vacay… hmm… I’ve never wanted to go to a national park. I’ve never had an interest! I’m not sure why as I love to hike and see things. Oh no, I had a funny memory. When I was in older elementary school, Mother took us to the Natural Bridge. It’s a huge bridge made of earth that can be dangerous if you fall off it. She had some sort of freakout when we reached the top and were on the bridge. “Please stay on the center of the bridge,” she begged of my brother and me.

I couldn’t help it. I walked directly down the center of the bridge, not veering off at all, but I turned around and yelled, “Hey, Mom, I moved an inch off the center of the bridge!”

And she was like, “AAUGH!! AAUGH!! MY DAUGHTER! MY DAUGHTER! NOOOO! NOOOO!”

She makes for an easy target at times.

Anyway, my answer would be that I’d love to return to Prague! YAY!

    1. I quite like to hike and be in nature as well, but I also don’t think that a national park would be a place where I’d choose to go spontaneously, when I could go anywhere else.
Hahaha, your mum seriously sounds like an easy target and someone with whom you’d frequently feel tempted to do things like moving just one inch simply to cause a reaction. 😀
Prague is lovely, I’d like to go there again too, and since you’re friends with Sonya I can imagine how you must miss it a whole lot!

    1. I myself live on the outskirts of a town, but it feels extremely rural for a town and there’s a lot of green everywhere, yet still I think I wouldn’t mind a rural get away.
