Maria Mohn – “En Sang Til Deg” (A Song For You).

Hi guys! 🙂

In the songs I’ve chosen for us for the last couple of days, complex topics have been prevalent. This one is not exactly the case. It’s much more of a comforting kind for all of us, I think, especially all of us who have been struggling with something in life. It’s comforting but simple. I like the clear and light but strong voice of Maria Mohn. She is also a pianist, and she comes from Norway. As you can figure out the song is in Norwegian as well, so here is the translation.

Here is a song for you
Fighting battles in a tired body
But when others would easily give up
You fight on
Here is a song for you
For you, who could barely stand
But who always stuck on
And smiled bravely
But nobody saw, everything you were carrying
But now you can let go
Now you can stand up and walk away
And you can stand straight
Now there is only one way
And, don’t give up when you’re so close
Your story doesn’t end here
Now it goes one way, and that is forward
Here is a song for you
Who always lost when the others won

But you are a rough diamond
Soon you will shine
Here is a song for you
Who thinks you’re not enough
But you can make it if you want to
You are more than good enough
(You are good enough)
So wipe off your face
And let it sink
Today is the day for change
Now you can stand up and walk away
And you can stand straight
Now there is only one way
And not give up when you are so close
Your story doesn’t end here
Now it goes one way, and that is forward
And it is forward
Can you stand up and walk away
And you can stand straight
Now there is only one way
And not give up when you are so close
Your story doesn’t end here
Now it goes one way, and that is forward
