Question of the day.

Who was your first crush, celebrity, or non-celebrity?

My answer:

My very first childhood crush was probably my Dad’s friend, I really have no idea why. I only have a vague recollection of him now and can’t see anything interesting about him. πŸ˜€ And then there are my famous, intense music crushes, and the first one was Enya. I guess I was about 11-12 when it started. It wasn’t a romantic crush. Enya was someone in between my idol, a kind of soothing presence with her music in my rather chaotic life, a replacement mother figure, like I thought about her that she’s my secret second mummy or something like that, and she was my fascination, like all my music crushes are, and the very first flame which started my whole Celtophilia and all that. She’s no longer my dominant crush since years, but is still there in the background very strongly, like all my music crushes!

How about your first crush? πŸ™‚

  1. My first non-celebrity crush that I remember was a classmate when I was in grade three. He’s now in jail for aggravated assault, so clearly I know how to pick winners. My first celebrity crush that I remember was Jordan Knight from New Kids On The Block.

  2. My first crush was basketball player Larry Bird. I was in fourth grade and obviously very confused about men! πŸ˜€ I have no clue what was up with that! I don’t feel the attraction any longer!

  3. My first childhood crush was a boy about a year or two younger than me in 4th grade. He had Duchenne muscular dystrophy I think, or at least some type of muscular disease. He died in secondary school, but I was no longer in that school with him.

I never really had celebrity crushes.

    1. It’s interesting that your childhood crush was younger than you. πŸ™‚ I guess most children are easily impressed by those that are older than them. Very sad though that this boy died and that it was so early in his life.

      1. Yeah, it’s a bit weird indeed. But my husband is 2 1/2 years younger than me too. It’s very sad that the boy I had a crush on died in his teens indeed. Thanks for expressing that.
