Question of the day (26th June).

Hi people! 🙂

Here are some more bookish questions for you. 🙂

Can you read while hearing music?

My answer:

Sure. I am a multitasker, as long as it doesn’t require coordination or other such skills, and I like listening to music while reading. I almost always do, and it actually helps me to focus even more and feel more absorbed by a book. I like to listen to music that could work as a soundtrack to the book I’m reading. I love both listening to music and reading so why not do both at the same time.

How is it for you? 🙂

  1. I can read while I listen to music, but I cannot write. If I try to write while some tune or other is playing in the background (let alone lyrics), it changes the words and sometimes it’s difficult to concentrate on how I wish to say whatever it is that I’m writing about. That led to another thought: I can read BOOKS (fictional books), but I cannot read a technical piece of writing or instructions or such if music is playing. What a fascinating question! 🙂

    1. That’s interesting! 🙂 I have the same thing with music with lyrics and reading but only when I’m reading something in a language I am not efficient in and listening to music in the same language at the same time.

  2. Yeah, I’m kind of like Ashley. Without quiet, I can’t concentrate. But I read so poorly lately (no focus whatsoever) that I can’t even read in silence!!
