Question of the day (10th March).

Hi guys. πŸ™‚

From now on I’ll have some pet related questions for you, so I hope you will enjoy them.

Do you currently have any pets? If so, what species?

My answer:

I guess if you aren’t completely new here I don’t have to say it again that I have a Russian blue cat whose name is Misha. He is 3 years old, is with us since April 2016, and he is almost everything for me. As long as I can only remember we’ve had fishes, my Dad has them actually. I don’t really care about them but my Dad does a lot and so does Misha, it once even happened that the fish bowl was open for a while when Dad was doing something with it and Misha scratched one fish very badly so the poor thing died. He loves looking at them and I guess is determined to one day catch one of them and eat it. And then we have a dog since last December, he’s mostly Zofijka’s, because Zofijka loves dogs and has always dreams about one. He’s extremely attached to her and treats her like her playmate and always cries when she goes out to school. His name is Jocky and he is a mixed breed dog though we’d had suspicions that he’s a Havanese, he looks very similar to this breed, but it’s rather impossible for him to be Havanese. Misha is in-door only, while Jocky lives on the backyard. He is small, I don’t know exactly how old he is, but he’s rather fluffy and I usually call him Jocky the Ball. While Misha is very withdrawn and introverted, Jocky is always full of beans and extremely touchy-feely and childish.

How about you? πŸ™‚

  1. I have 4 guinea pigs. I think they’re all mixed breeds. Two of them are siblings. I think they’re peruvian-abyssinian cross, and they have the same colouring but one has more peruvian style long hair while the other is more spiky abyssinian-style.

    1. The name Freja is beautiful and I think it suits a cat very well. πŸ™‚ I am also theoretically allergic to cats and fairly badly, but not to Misha. Russian blues have shorter hair so it could be that, but I’ve also heard about situations when people are so strongly attached to their cats that they aren’t allergic to them. It’s something to do with autosuggestion. So maybe that’s the thing with your boyfriend too. I think it’s funny, but even if I did have allergy to Misha, I don’t think I’d be able to give up on him, unless it was really really bad.

  2. Oh, no, your poor fish!! Oh, Misha, that’s a bad, bad kitty! Naughty kitty. Very undignified cat behavior. πŸ˜›

I have fishies, too, and I think I’ve got my tank rigged so that Mr. Kitty can’t get anywhere near its lid. I managed this because the aquarium is an inch smaller than the furniture it sits on, so Mr. Kitty can’t even get level with the aquarium, much less up on its top. (Whew!)

As well as the kitty and the fishies, I have a puppy named Sammy Samson!! He’s a sweetheart, but he has anxiety/aggression issues.

    1. Yes that was very naughty of Misha and he knows it. Though whether he cares is another thing, so Dad is now thankfully watching out more carefully in case Misha would be in a particularly carnivorous and destructive mood. Poor Sammy Samson, it’s so sad when animals have to deal with such things. Misha isn’t aggressive (with the exception of fishies) but he’s very anxious too and it’s sometimes awful to observe when he is really fearful and you can’t do much about it.
