Curled up together, we silently lie
me, and him – Misha, the sweet child of mine
I can hear the beating of his feline heart
knowing that no one could tear us apart.
I breathe inย his smell, listen to his sounds
his delicate paws, his head, small and round.
My hand on his chest, I feel how he breathes
What do you dream of, in your peaceful sleep?
his purring – a comforting
Puts me to sleep, with its sweet harmonies.
When the day comes, I wake up calm and free
And that’s how we live, my Misha and me.
That is a beautiful poem.

Thanks, I really tried, it was my first ever poem in English, and even in Polish I don’t write a lot of poetry, so I’m glad it went well. ๐

Symphonies are so wonderful, Emilia and Misha!
“My hand on his chest I feel how he breathes
What do you dream of in your peaceful sleep?
his purring – a comforting symphony
Puts me to sleep with its sweet harmonies.”
And I liked the part about the feline heart / and not being tore apart.

We had a really cool cat named “Misha” — my sister was a Russian Area Studies major in college and so the name. Cats have such distinct personalities and remember Misha well, though he wasn’t with us very long due to an illness.

Aww,that’s so cool you also had a Misha! I love this name, well if I didn’tI wouldn’t call my cat this name. ๐ I think that although Misha means “bear” in Rusian, it suits a cat so well too. And yes, that’s very true about cats’ personalities. Pity that your MIsha got ill though. Sorry for the late reply, I was without my laptop for a month.
