Hi guys! 🙂
Is there anyone who likes Enya here? First of all, let me know, because I’m curious, she’s one of my music crushes, so I love anyone who loves her. 😀 Second of all, let’s wish her happy birthday today. It’s her 57th birthday. Don’t know if she looks old enough, but she certainly doesn’t sound or seem. The time flies definitely too fast.
I love all her songs (well apart from “Orinoco Flow”, unfortunately I’ve got bad associations with it and no matter how I try, it seems like I can’t like it, and there’s something in the harmonies that always keeps me away from it), so I had a hard time deciding on something for today. And I decided for a lullaby. I don’t know what the time is where you are, but you can always listen to it again before sleep if you like it, and I think there’s nothing wrong in listening to lullabies when the sun is rising, or before, or in the middle of the day. Maybe that’s why my sleep cycle is so crazy… That’s an interesting thing to think about.
As much as I love lullabies, this one is very special to me, not only because it’s by Enya, whom I considered my second Mummy when I was in my early teens, but also because it’s the song of the Sandman. I love The Sandman. It’s such an inspiring character. I wish he existed. And as often with ENya’s music, this song moves me very deeply, making me very joyful and excited but also deeply sad at the same time. I’m curious what are your feelings about it.
